The exploitation of commodities depends directly on mineral research. At this point, geology and geophysics stand out, investigating, discovering and generating wealth.

Knowing and recognizing the evolution of the planet is essential for us to understand how it will behave going forward. Technics indicates how the rocks formed and transformed over time and, indirectly, the entire biome on the planet.
Volcanism and Geohazards
Although it does not occur in Brazil, active volcanoes play an important role in the Earth and human evolution. Between geological hazards and geotourism, from magma to tephra, volcanic activity permeates, directly and indirectly, all areas of Earth Sciences.
Environment
Preserving the environment is a common feature of most government plans around the world. Global warming requires immediate measures to contain anthropic pollution and investigations to identify polluting agents or environments at risk.
